The Chamber of Automobile Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) formalized their participation in the Young Street Smarts (YSS) Road Safety School Tour through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the YSS principal.

YSS is a series of free seminars and workshops conducted for graduating high school students to teach them to be safe and responsible road users. CAMPI’s support for the road safety advocacy undertaking manifests their paramount concern for safety not only through the vehicles their members bring to the market but more so for pedestrians, commuters and the general motoring public.

Shown signing the MOA are (from left) Arnel Doria, Corporate Affairs director of Volkswagen Philippines; Ray Butch Gamboa, chairman/chief executive officer of Sunshine TV and SocioCom Foundation for Asia, which are the school tour organizers; lawyer Rommel Gutierrez, president of CAMPI and first vice president for Government Affairs of Toyota Motor Philippines; and Jenny Bleza-Pineda, SocioCom executive director and STV VP for production.

CAMPI members composed of BAIC, BMW, Daewoo, Honda, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, Toyota and Volkswagen have committed to a continuing yearly support for the laudable road safety advocacy project.
