The Camarines Sur Provincial Police has confiscated P75,000 worth of illegally cut logs and arrested a young tricycle driver as it continued with its illegal logging campaign in the towns. Provincial Police Director Primo Golingay reported on Friday that the recovered logs appeared to have been sourced from the Mt. Isarog National Park in Ocampo town. No one was arrested during the recovery as the logs appeared to have been abandoned in Villaflorida village but members of the Ocampo Police continue their investigation to those behind the illegal activity. In another incident, Golingay reported the arrest of a 19-year-old tricycle driver for transporting illegally cut lumber in Calabanga town. Charges for violation of the Forestry code are being readied against the suspect.
