OTTAWA: Canada has suspended its military cooperation with Russia over the recent events in Ukraine, which has been in a political turmoil since its legitimate leader was ousted last month, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said.

“I have this morning directed that, effective immediately, all planned bilateral activities between the Canadian Armed Forces and the military of the Russian Federation be suspended,” Harper said Tuesday.
