• Canadian man arrested on terror-related charge near Toronto

OTTAWA: Authorities arrested a 23-year-old man in the Toronto suburbs on Saturday on a terrorism-related charge, but stressed it was not linked to the deadly suicide bombings in Brussels. Kevin Omar Mohamed was arrested under a “Fear of Terrorism Offence” law, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a statement, suggesting he was preparing to travel abroad to train with extremists. He was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. If convicted, he could face a maximum of 10 years in prison.
