A Canadian wanted in the United States for drugs and other crimes was arrested Tuesday in Makati City (Metro Manila). Through the mission order by the embassies of Canada and the US in Manila, the Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested Lachlan Scott, 58, at his residence. BI Commissioner Ronaldo Geron said Scott will be deported to the US soon to face trial before a district court in Minnesota for violating the US federal food, drug and cosmetic act; introduction of misbranded drugs into interstate commerce; conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud; and unlawful distribution and dispensing of a controlled substance. The Canadian government has already cancelled Scott’s passport. His name is also included in the blacklist to prevent him from returning to Manila.
