• Cancer-stricken priest found dead

A PARISH priest, reportedly diagnosed with colon cancer, was found dead inside a rectory with an electric cord tied around his neck in a remote village in Loboc town in Bohol. An autopsy conducted by Dr. Lev Varquez, Loboc Rural Health Officer, said that Father Marcelino Dano Biliran died of asphyxia. Investigation revealed that the priest was diagnosed last year with having colon cancer, and that since then, he became depressed. Biliran served as parish priest in several parishes in Bohol. He was parish priest of St. Isidore The Farmer Parish in Bilar town before he was transferred to St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Loboc on June 8, 2015.
