Capiz, Iloilo still affected by insurgency problem


ILOILO CITY: Two provinces in Panay Island and Negros Occidental remain affected by the communist insurgency problem but mostly in hinterland barangays  only. Elements of the Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division are flushing out these communist rebels in the remote areas of Capiz and Iloilo and in Negros Occidental, according to Division Commander Maj. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero. He said the most affected hinterland villages are in the southern and northern parts of the province. He also said insurgency in Antique was greatly reduced.
