THE Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) announced it has launched the 2014-2015 Car of the Year-Phils. (COTY-P) and Truck of the Year-Phils. (TOTY-P) testing season.
“We have a challenging and exciting season ahead as the car brands have launched many cutting-edge vehicles that provide good value for money in their respective segments,” said CAGI President Ferman Lao. “I see many COTY-P potential winners. I don’t envy the testers this year. It’s going to be very difficult to pick the winner.”
Established in 2004, CAGI said it is composed of motoring journalists from the country’s print, broadcast and online publications. It added it strives to find the best vehicles in the country through comprehensive testing involving quantitative and qualitative analyses of the vehicle’s performance, design, value and other relevant factors.
CAGI explained the 2014-2015 testing season is open to all all-new or significantly updated vehicles launched to the local market from October 2013 to October 2014. Testing dates are scheduled in October, followed by an awarding ceremony to be held before the end of the year.
The Mazda 6 is the 2013-2014 COTY-P while the Ford Ranger Wildtrak holds the TOTY-P title.
