CAR-PDEA HAULS OVER P109M ‘WEEDS’

BAGUIO CITY: Cordillera anti-narcotics agents reported that during the first two months this year, over P109-million worth of marijuana was prevented to reach illicit illegal drugs market in Metro Manila. Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and local police burned at least 52,400 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants; 2,000 pieces of marijuana seedlings; 100,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and 5,000 grams of marijuana seeds that were all sourced from seven cultivation sites.

    These farmers just wasted their crop and it went down the drain. Most likely, the farmers or the people who cultivated these marijuana plants did not buy any insurance policy for their plants. In other words, they did not give money to the police for protection, and put simply, did not have Police Protection.
