CAR residents reminded on measles vaccination

BAGUIO CITY: The Department of Health (DOH) in the Cordillera Administrative Region reminded parents and guardians to bring all under-five children (59 months and below) to health centers for measles rubella- oral polio vaccination this month. Measles remains to be a health concern for the government as clustering cases were noted in various parts of the country since last year prompting the DOH to once again embark on a nationwide immunization campaign. Assistant Regional Director Dr. Amelita Pangilinan reported that based on their January 1 to August 30 disease surveillance report, there were 108 confirmed measles cases with Benguet having the most cases with 53, followed by Baguio City with 34.
