CARNAP LEADER HURT IN ANTIPOLO SHOOTOUT

THE leader of a notorious carnapping group was wounded and his two henchmen were arrested following a shootout with police operatives on June 18 in Antipolo City. Philippine National Police- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Director Benjamin Magalong identified the leader as Ronan Rocha while his two henchmen were identified as Joseph Colalco and Marcial Tagal. Magalong quoting reports said that the shootout between the carnappers and their operatives occurred at around 8:30 p.m. near a Shell gas station along Marcos Highway in Barangay Mayamot. Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver, a fragmentation grenade and the group’s vehicle, a Mitsubishi Montero, after the shootout.
