Three golfers — Paul Casey, Patrick Reed and Charley Hoffman — are all returning to play in the Travelers Championship June 21 to 24 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.
Casey returns for the fourth straight year. His best finish was his first year, placing second after falling in a sudden-death playoff to Bubba Watson. Ranked 13th in the world rankings this week, Casey won the Valspar Championship, his second victory on the PGA Tour, earlier this month. He played for the European team in the Ryder Cup three times.
Reed is also a former two-time Ryder Cup player for the United States and also played for the U.S. in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Ranked 24th worldwide, Reed is making his seventh straight appearance at TPC River Highlands, his best finish coming last year when he placed fifth. He has five PGA Tour victories to his credit.
The 28th-ranked Hoffman tied for third at the Travelers Championship last year and tied for second in 2012. He played for the U.S. on the Presidents Cup last year and had seven top-110 finishes overall last season.
The trio join previously committed Watson, a two-time winner, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy in this year’s field. TNS
