INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight champion Johnreil Casimero will defend his title for the fourth time when he fights mandatory challenger Mauricio Fuentes of Colombia on March 29 in Manila.
Casimero has 19-2 win-loss record with 11 knockouts while the 24-year-old Fuentes holds a 16-2 win-loss record with 10 knockouts.
Casimero previously defeated Felipe Salguero through an 11th round technical knockout in October at the Makati Coliseum.
Casimero, 23, is one of the remaining three Filipino world boxing champions. The other two are World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight champion Donnie Nietes and WBO minimum weight titleholder Merlito Sabillo.
Casimero is now undergoing intensive conditioning in Cebu under trainer Christopher Tepora.
