ILOILO CITY: Some 31 students of Suclaran National High School in San Lorenzo town, Guimaras province fell ill after eating cassava pudding sold at the school’s canteen last Tuesday. Chief Insp. Ethan Estaya, of San Lorenzo police station, confirmed that the incident adding that the students have been sent home the next day after treatment. The students vomited and complained of severe stomach ache and dizziness and were rushed to Guimaras Provincial Hospital. San Lorenzo municipal health office has collected samples of the cassava cake for laboratory test to determine the cause of their illness.
