Castro suffers ankle injury

A little over a week before the FIBA World Cup in Madrid, Spain, Gilas Pilipinas playmaker Jayson Castro injured his ankle on Tuesday during the game against the Basque national basketball team Euskadi in San Sebastian, Spain. The Philippines absorbed a 66-75 defeat. Castro had a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test right after the game to determine the extent of the injury. Besides Castro, another team member Paul Lee is also nursing an injured hip. Gilas Pilipinas will face Angola on Thursday in another tune-up game before competing in the FIBA World Cup scheduled on August 30 to September 14.
