Catalan, who still has to win as an MMA fighter, controlled the bout early as he almost submitted his opponent with an armbar hold in the first round. But Catalan forced to takedown his Cambodian opponent and paid the price.

Dima delivered two roundhouse kicks and several punches to Catalan’s head,  prompting the referee to stop the fight with 3:40 left in the second round. Dima was declared winner by technical knockout.

“The URCC made Filipino fighters established as among Asia’s best MMA fighters and then foreign promotions just considered or get any Filipino marketable fighters,” Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) founder Alvin Aguilar told The Manila Times.

“Catalan is a world champion in wushu and my good friend, but he is not an MMA fighter. He is a wushu world champion and that’s a big difference.”

Brazilian fighter Bibiano Fernandes defeated Korean “Stone Cutter” Soo Chul Kim in the fight’s main event five-rounder via unanimous decision to become the undisputed One FC bantamweight world champion.

Japanese Shinya Aoki crushed Cody Stevens via a unanimous decision in his featherweight division debut, while Eddie Ng beat Peter Davis via armbar submission at 1:46 in round one and Tatsuya Mizuno ripped Rafael Silva via unanimous decision.

In other results, Sylvain Potard knocked out Jake Butler with 42 seconds left in round two, and Shannon Wiratchai knocked out Mitch Chilson with 1:52 remaining in round one.
