Catanduanes University exec robbed


LEGAZPI CITY: The president of Catanduanes State University lost her jewelries worth P200,000 and about P100,000 worth of dollars in different denomination to a thief who was arrested on a pursuit operation hours later. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP regional spokesperson said that the robber broke into the residence of Minerva L. Morales, 61, in Barangay Calatagan Proper, Virac town before dawn on Saturday. Virac police arrested Ryan Viloria, 22, also of Barangay Calatagan Proper, in a hot pursuit in Barangay Hawan Grande, Virac. Last week, a series of robbery also took place in the island province of Catanduanes wherein a P170,000 was also lost by personnel of ARDCI lending firm in Viga town, and some P70,000 cash by another lending company in Virac.
