Cathay Pacific flight turns offloads sick passenger

A Cathay Pacific flight on Tuesday returned to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to offload a sick man on board shortly after it took off for Hong Kong. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said flight CX912 with 251 passengers on board called the Manila Control Tower at 9:04 a.m. because American national John Michael Rapp, 23, who has a history of colon cancer, was suffering from internal bleeding. He was immediately brought to San Juan De Dios Hospital. In another development, a Bombardier Dash 8 of AirPhil Express was not able to land at the Masbate airport because of a landing gear problem. Flight 2P2021 with 32 passengers on board returned to Manila due to lack of repair facilities at the said airport.
