The Cavite Provincial Police Office’s “Operation Checkmate” has confiscated 50 illegal motorcycles in 23 municipalities and cities in the province. Intensification of check points resulted in the seizing of 50 units in just a day. The motorcycles had no certificates of ownership or plate numbers and some were linked to carnapping and other crimes. The motorcycles were impounded at Camp Pantaleon Garcia in Imus City. The police are verifying their ownership with the Highway Patrol Group and the Land Transportation Office in Cavite. The operation against illegal motorcycles is ongoing to prevent the increase in crime rates in Cavite.
