Cavite vice governor ‘shot’ in the chest

CAVITE Vice Governor Jolo Revilla was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest Saturday morning.

According to Governor Juanito Victor Remulla, the young Revilla was rushed to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City after sustaining a gunshot wound on his upper right chest under still unexplained circumstances.

“He sustained a gun shot that went through his upper right chest. I don’t know how it happened,” Remulla said, adding his fellow provincial official is alive.

Remulla said the incident happened “this (Saturday) morning,” although he did not provide any more details as of press time.

Clifford Elorde, media officer for Senator Revilla, said the family would issue a statement soon.

“The Revillas are asking for prayers for Jolo,” Elorde said.

Jolo is the son of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Congresswoman Lani Mercado and is presently in a relationship with actress Jodi Sta. Maria.

It was not known if the bullet wound was self-inflicted or not but people close to the family claimed the young Revilla was distraught, especially since he idolizes his father so much.
