OLONGAPO CITY: Senator Allan Peter Cayetano on Thursday turnover P150,000 to the Olongapo Subic Castillejos San Marcelino Transport Service Cooperative (OSCSM) during the launching of his micro-financing program to help the local transport sectors in the city.
Cayetano’s Presyo, Trabaho/Kita, Kaayusan (PTK) platform aims to promote projects that lower prices of goods, create more jobs, and increase people’s income.
The micro-financing mechanism allows members of cooperatives, entrepreneur groups and organizations such as the transport group in Olongapo City wider access to capital that they can use to improve their livelihood.
OSCSM President David Re–quilma thanked Cayetano for the assistance. ”We are thinking to add this fund to setup a small spare parts shop so that our members can avail of the low price parts and at the same time help the cooperative earn so we can give them more
program that would help them.”
He also praised Olongapo City’s organized transporta- tion system like the color coding scheme.
“Maganda nga ang mga jeep dito, tatandaan mo lang ang kulay, alam mo na kung saan ang ruta niya. Sa ibang lugar kai–langan magbasa ka pa ng maliliit na signboard [The jeeps here are beautiful. You just remember the color and you will know the route. In other places, you have to read smaller signboards.] This is truly a great scheme,” Cayetano said.
