More CCTV cameras in San Juan in 2015

CITING the importance of surveillance camera systems in reducing crimes, San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez said that the local government will install additional closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the city next year. Gomez said the CCTV cameras will be placed at strategic areas to prevent the commission of crimes in the city and to help identify the suspect when a crime is committed. The lady mayor also urged business establishments to install surveillance cameras to help protect their investments. Earlier, a former worker at an auto service shop was identified as the one who raped and killed an 11-month-old baby girl, whose dead body was found under a parked jeepney in San Juan on August 1, through the CCTV camera footages.
