A passenger of Cebgo Flight DG6577 sustained a minor injury during an evacuation process on Monday evening at the Cebu-Mactan International Airport after its Cebu-to-Tacloban flight was aborted, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), operator of Cebgo, said on Tuesday. The airline said the aircraft was forced to abort the takeoff because of fluctuating oil indication on one of the engines. While taxiing for return to the terminal, a wheel of the aircraft–an Airbus ATR 72-500–caught fire, prompting immediate evacuation of the 67 passengers and crew. CEB said all the people onboard were safely evacuated but a passenger was hurt. The passenger was not named. Meanwhile, the Manila International Airport Authority said six international flights were canceled on Tuesday because of bad weather. Affected flights were China Airlines Flight CI702/CI703 (Manila-Taipei-Manila), Philippine Airlines PR428/PR427 (Manila-Narita-Manila) and PR896/PR897 (Manila-Kansai-Manila).
