CEBU Pacific Air Inc. is seeking the reallocation of unused seat entitlements to Italy previously granted to Philippine Airlines Inc. (PAL).
Cebu Pacific has filed with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) an application for the reallocation of seat entitlements to Italy from the unutilized seats allocated to PAL in accordance with the Confidential Memorandum of Understanding (CMOU) between the Governments of the Philippines and Italy dated September 5, 2013.
On September 5 and 6 last year, the Philippines and Italy held air service talks in Rome during which the two governments agreed to increase seat entitlements between the two countries.
The air service talks between the Philippines and Italy came after the European Union lifted its ban on Philippine air carriers, starting with PAL, on July 10, 2014.
Under the new terms, the two countries have agreed to 14 flights per week.
Cebu Pacific’s application is scheduled for hearing on January 14, 2015.
