Cebu Pacific will begin daily operations from Manila to Sydney, Australia starting December 1 this year, the low-cost carrier said over the weekend.
Cebu Pacific currently operates five weekly nonstop flights between Sydney and Manila.
“The additional frequency between Manila and Australia reflects our commitment to reinforce the Cebu Pacific effect across one of our strongest international markets,” Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog said in a statement.
According to Iyog, the increase flights will translate to increased cargo capacity between Sydney and Manila, and to other countries such as Japan, China, and Korea, Southeast Asia and to Dubai.
Cebu Pacific is currently offering seat sale for the said route from July 21 to 28, 2017 or until seats last, for as low as P9,167.31. The travel period is from Novermber 16, 2017 to March 15, 2017.
For the first four months of 2017, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reported that Cebu Pacific captured 41.7 percent of the total passenger market share for the Manila-Sydney route; and 47.4 percent of the total cargo market share.
