Cebu Pacific passengers in the plane that overshot the runway at Mactan-Cebu International Airport on Friday arrived safely in Manila on Saturday morning, the low-cost airline said.
All 435 passengers affected were moved to the next five Cebu Pacific flights after the incident. An additional flight carried the remaining passengers.
Cebu Pacific said the cause of the incident was the nose wheel of the plane that left the paved surface during a 180-degree turn while taxiing before the takeoff.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific and Cebgo flights diverted to other airports Friday night flew to Cebu early in the morning.
According to Cebu Pacific, all passengers of all affected flights were provided with meals, refreshments and travel vouchers.
“We have been coordinating with airport authorities since the incident occurred last night…Again, we sincerely apologize to everyone for the inconvenience caused by the incident,” it said in a statement.
