It is a special honor that internationally acclaimed Filipina pianist Cecile Licad has agreed to perform a one-night only concert on behalf of the Philippine Italian Association (PIA) Endowment Fund.

More importantly, her show, which is set on January 27, 2016 at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, will benefit the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s tour of the United States of America in June 2016—a historic first by a Filipino orchestra to the US.
The US Tour of PPO—considered the premier orchestra in the Philippines— is sure to bring much pride and cultural recognition to the Philippines.

It will indeed be more special since Licad has taken time off from her busy performing and recording schedule, to give generously of her time and talent to this worthwhile twin charitable cause.

Leading the cause is the PIA Endowment Fund, established in 2002 under the dynamic leadership of its president Zenaida Tantoco.

Outstanding beneficiaries of this fund are major charities organized by Italian missionaries (Servants of Charity, the Sisters Handmaids of Charity, the Canossian Sons of Charity and Punto Cuore), who provide educational, medical, food and housing facilities. Among these, the handicapped, the “poorest of the poor,” are rehabilitated and lovingly nurtured and given a chance at a better life.

Licad’s concert is being co-sponsored by the Rustan Group of Companies and the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
