• Cedric Lee company awarded contract for NAIA repairs

Cedric Lee, the man accused of beating TV host and comedian Vhong Navarro, heads a company that won a contract to refurbish the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Izumo Contractors Inc., of which Lee is board chairman and president, had been awarded contracts for the repair of the parapet walls, eaves, and elevated roadway of the NAIA Terminal 1.

The P150-million project, which started on October 2013, is funded by the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA). It is different from the Department of Transportation and Communications’ P1.3-billion rehabilitation of the Terminal 1.
Izumo boasts of handling major government infrastructure projects.

The MIAA ordered the repairs to address the concerns of the Airline Operators Council. Sections of the terminal’s aging ceiling and parapet walls had given way.

MIAA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado was quoted as saying that the damage to the parapet walls and eaves were due to the vibrations and echoes caused by aircraft.

Honrado said it would take around eight months to fix some 30,000 square meters of the ceiling surface.

A source in the airport said Izumo bagged the contract after it submitted the lowest bid last June.

The source did not say how many bidders vied for the contract.

Lee’s company is said to have also bidded for the repair of the NAIA runway.

His personal business profile showed that he was the managing director and shareholder of Colossal Mining Corporation, the biggest iron sand concessionaire in the Philippines; chairman and president of Phil-Asia Dredging and Reclamation Corp., the biggest dredging operation in Cagayan River; and the chairman and president of Waste Management Inc. which has a contract with the Cebu provincial government to manage their landfill and convert to waste-to-energy 20 megawatts.

According to the source, Cedric frequented NAIA to check on the project before he was implicated in the mauling of Navarro.

Lee and four others are in the Lookout Bulletin Order of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), which means they need clearance before they can leave the country.

His picture and that of his sister Bernice, and friend Deniece Cornejo have been posted at NAIA’s immigration booths.

    1. Being behind bars serving the court punishment is not a hindrance for Cedric Lee to accomplice his business tasks while languishing in jail. The only unpleasant and very disturbing characteristic of NOYNOY administration is their notoriety of awarding government contract to unprincipled, corrupt, crooked and ruthless contractor.

      • The only unpleasant and very disturbing characteristic of NOYNOY administration is their notoriety of awarding government contract to unprincipled, corrupt, crooked and ruthless contractor?

How can you say unprincipled, corrupt, crooked and ruthless contractor??

It is very easy to judge, the awarding of the contract is based on price which are advantageous to the government.

One thing is sure: You can’t get a contract in the government of that magnitude without strong connection.

This NAIA contract is not transparent. Many of Cedric business partners are from the military. Honrado is a military man. Bids and Awards Committee chairman is also a military man.

COA Hayde Mondoza, why not look into this contract? You’ll surely discover something here. We can help you identify anomalies in public biddings because we know the system. Announce your intention and we’ll come over because we trust you.

    4. IN THIS COUNTRY WHERE CORRUPTION IS PART OF DAILY LIFE, IT IS WITH CERTAINTY THAT THERE IS ANOMALY IN THE GETTING THE CONTRACT. SORRY FOR WHAT I SAID. BUT I CONGRATULATE HIM FOR WINNING THE CONTRACT.

    5. The question here guys for the government contracts of Cedric Lee is this: Are these contracts all within the context of the purported “daang matuwid” of this administration?

Your guess is as good as mine.

      Thanks!!

    6. Big time indeed. No wonder he knows many in high places including NAIA. Untouchable. Let’s see how Pnoy and the government shall handle his case.

    7. Only the likes of Cedric Lee can afford the requirements of the new Gun Control Law whose documentations will rival those of getting a Building Permit.

this guy must have a lot of connections, maybe pretty girls, to grab the multi million contracts…

    9. P.S.

So is the Navarro guy…..his visiting that girl who is alone in her apartment is suspect . They say he has a girlfriend and children…..does he?

To me, IDIOT Lee’s version seems more credible than IDIOT( X 2) Navarro’s for another red flag………Idiot Lee sisters’ presence, she being there!

My prediction of the outcome…………..IDIOT IDIOT Navarro will settle for compensation
      from IDIOT Lee……………… Case closed…………both lawyers happy with their ($$$caching caching$$) huge fees. ( lol x 2)

      • Lol! What’s wrong with visiting a girl in her apartment? The girl is’nt a minor, nothing wrong. The guy is free anyway. You have a dirty mind. Go get a life somewhere.
