Enterprising woman Marissa Fenton, who is also the past president of Inner Wheel Club of Manila (2012-2014), celebrated another year of good life at the newly opened Blackbird Restaurant, formerly the famous Nielsen Tower at Makati Avenue, on August 20.
Owner Chef Colin Mackay especially created a menu for a sit down dinner for 35 guests. Only the best and excellent food that only Blackbird could prepare was served.
Guests were a mix of friends from Marissa’s circle like Consul Fortune Ledesma, Fanny Blanco, Jun and Nene Leonor, Tessie Amparo and society friends Jojo and Henry Zabarte, Atty. Rene and Ann Puno, Guru George Sison, Ito Curata and Bob Miller, Lulu Tan Gan, Joanne Matschuck, Rupert and Tina Jacinto, Ken and Buena Sarmiento, Yoli Ayson, Geena Zablan and Emma Nieto. Marisa’s son Notsky Lou with cousin Michael were also present. Narvasa Wines were overflowing too and that’s how Marisa entertains her family and friends.
Earlier, another blowout took place at Food Club, a buffet restaurant of lavish cuisines including Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and Filipino. It was a joint birthday celebration of lawyer Manette Agbayani and Ms. World Philippines licensee, Cory Quirino.
Guests were led by German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, as well as Mr. World International first runner up Andrew Wolf also came making the glamorous lady guests giggle. They were Carla Sibal visiting from London, Anna Sia, Geena Zablan and Emma Nieto. The gentleman guests were equally happy with the food like Dr. George Sarakinis and good-looking Canadian Michael Ierulou of Manila Pianos.
The sumptuous dinner were hosted by columnist Joy Fong, and restaurateurs Ces and Zed Ramirez of the Food Club.
Cory had another birthday get together organized by friends at the Caffe Caruso Ristorante Italiano attended by the same group. This time, her close friends Virginia Lane, Zeny Wilson and Marisa Fenton were now present.
