There’s a newest trio of fun-loving and good-looking celebrities in town, Luis Manzano, KC Montero and Solenn Heussaff. Together, they comprise the Axe Gold Council commissioned by Unilever to transform three average Filipinos into the most attractive men they could be.

The Axe Gold Council was launched at the Republiq at Resorts World Manila, along with the Axe Gold Pass Challenge, which will determine the male finalists who will be mentored and groomed by Manzano, Montero and Heussaff.

To join the challenge, a male must get his Gold Pass tab by purchasing the Axe Gold Temptation product. After logging the tab details at the Axe Philippines Facebook page, he must campaign for votes. The top 400 men with the most votes will advance to the next round.

From there, three finalists will be chosen to compete in the Gold Pass Challenge. Each one will be paired with a council member as his coach.


As coaches, Manzano, Montero and Heussaff will share their personal knowledge and skills into creating the perfect man—sweet, sophisticated, humorous and masculine—to suit the female needs.

Also, they are tasked to make each finalist worthy of the “Gold Life,” which includes a brand new 2014 Volkswagen Beetle and a one-year, rent-free condominium unit at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, as well as an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas where the the winner and two companions will receive VIP treatment at the hottest clubs.

But only one will claim the title “Ultimate Gold Man” and receive the Gold Life—to be deliberated upon and chosen by Axe’s celebrity council.

Also taking part in this male transformation challenge are Magic 89.9FM’s Boys Night Out DJs Slick Rick, Tony Tony, and Sam YG, who are expected to bring some laughs to this testosterone-infused competition.
