Celebs add glitter, humor to park rally

A generous sprinkling of celebrities were spotted at Monday’s Million People March at Rizal Park.

Among those seen hobnobbing with the demonstrators were Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, singer Jim Paredes, and veteran actors Pinky Amador, Edu Manzano, TV5 game show host Willie Revillame, and Mae Paner aka Juana Change.

Father and son Pen and Ping Medina, thespian couple Sharmaine and Nonie Buencamino, and celebrity couple Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez also dropped by. So did Ramon Bautista, Lourd de Veyra, Jun Sabayton, RJ Ledesma and RA Rivera.

The younger generation of TV personalities was also represented at the rally. Cousins and models Isabelle Daza and Georgina Wilson, daughter of late Francis Magalona, Saab, and TV host and Unicef advocate Bianca Gonzales showed up.

Bianca continuously posted photos in Instagram throughout the rally. One of her posts read, “The corrupt who steal our taxes MUST suffer the consequences.”

It was hard not to miss Paner. As expected, she injected humor to the gathering and elicited laughs when she introduced herself as Janet Bariles Napoles.

“Oink. Oink. Oink. Wala kayong sinabi sa power ko. Hindi nyo nga ako makita eh,” she told the crowd.

“Hindi nyo ko nahuli. Sa tingin nyo ba kakampi nyo ang mga nasa gobyerno para mahuli ako? Asa pa kayo! Ang mga kakampi ko, ang mga kasama ko sa gobyerno, lahat kami hawak namin ang sistema,” she added.

She then turned serious, warning the people to continue their fight against corruption.
“Kung hanggang today lang naman kayo pagkatapos babalik na kayo sa komportableng buhay, excuse me, dadami lang ang katulad ko. Dahil ang nakita nyo is only the tip of the iceberg.”
