ZAMBOANGA CITY: The city government, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, will conduct a census and tagging of Badjao families to determine who among them were displaced by the standoff in September. City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Rodrigo Sicat said on Wednesday they received information that not all of the estimated 400 Badjao families staying in tents along R.T. Lim Boulevard were displaced by the standoff. “We are going to do a census and tagging because we know for a fact they increase in number after the widespread flooding. They are not displaced by the standoff and they are just there to avail free shelter and food,” Sicat said.
