Filipino club Ceres La Salle FC aims to bounce back when it face Tampines Rovers FC in the second leg of the 2016 RHB Singapore Cup semifinals at the Jalan Besar Stadium today.

The game starts 7:45 p.m.

The Bacolod-based powerhouse squad is currently down by a goal, 1-2, on aggregate with the solitary goal courtesy of Spanish winger Bienvenido Maranon.

Maranon scored the goal in the 17th minute of the match.

The Spaniard almost notched his second goal in the 50th minute but his penalty shot was blocked by Tampines’ goalie Izwan Mahbud.

On the other hand, the Singapo­reans posted two goals through team captain Fahrudin Mustafic in the 12th minute and striker Sufian Anuar in the 49th minute.

Ceres’ Fil-German Stephan Schrock, the competition’s top scorer with five goals, is set to return in the second leg after serving a one game suspension.

Also, Manuel Ott and Kevin Ingresso, both crucial in the team’s midfield, will also return after missing the last game because of suspension.

The Busmen will also rely on Patrick Reichelt and Martin Steuble when they face Tampines anew.

During the preliminary rounds of the competition, the remaining Filipino team in the contest won against Young Lions FC, 3-1, and Brunei DPMM FC, 5-3.

Besides Ceres, 2016 UFL Cup champion Global FC also competed in the regional club football tournament but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Tampines Rovers, 2-5, on aggregate.
