Ceres La Salle FC’s Spanish striker Adrian Gallardo Valdes topped the list of United Football League’s (UFL) leading scorers after the first round of games.
After 11 games in the tournament, Gallardo landed on the No.1, spot followed by brothers Phil and James Younghusband at the second and third spots, respectively.
The 28-year-old Spaniard, who has played for a handful of clubs in Spain, has scored a total of 24 goals for the defending champion team.
Gallardo Valdes’ eight-goal performance played a vital role in Ceres La Salle’s 16-0 rout of Pasargad FC.
He once again took the scoring task for the Busmen in the team’s 11-0 drubbing of former second division titleholders Laos FC with an output of six goals.
On the other hand, Phil Younghusband at No.2 had 15 goals for the Loyola Meralco Sparks FC despite sitting out their first few games in the season because of injury.
The skipper of the Azkals stepped up to notch five goals in Loyola’s commanding victory over Laos.
James Younghusband, at No.3, tallied 13 goals.
JP Voltes FC’s Japanese forward Takumi Uesato, who just played ten games for the squad, is at the fourth spot with 12 goals.
Uesato has been the go-to player of Voltes since his debut hat-trick in their 7-1 win over Forza FC.
Sharing the fifth spot are Global FC team captain Misagh Bahadoran and Kaya FC’s Senegalese striker Robert Lopez Mendy with 11 goals each.
Action continues in the UFL at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Saturday, with a double-header featuring games between Forza FC and Loyola Meralco Sparks FC at 1:30 p.m. and the clash between JP Voltes FC and Kaya FC at 4 p.m.
