• Cesafi’s best to play against PBA teams

CEBU CITY: A selection of collegiate stars from the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) will get to taste what it takes to become a PBA player as they wage a friendly battle in the Recoletos Invitational Cup 2016 on November 9 to 11 at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Coliseum in Basak Campus in Cebu City.

Six players from the USJ-R Jaguars squad, four from the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras and three from the 2016 Cesafi champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and Rendell Senining, will face three PBA teams in a three-day tournament.

Senining is trying to win a spot at the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and is using the three-day event against PBA teams to hone his skills.

The Jaguars will also test their new foreign player Nigerian Sega Kingsley in the tournament.

He will be joined by fellow Jaguars RJ Dinolan, Miguel Gastador, Ricky Peromingan, Nelvin Navarra and Jaybie Mantilla in the Cesafi All-Stars.

Other players are Mark Jayven Tallo, Bernie Bregondo, Jovannie Luz and Mark Racho of Southwestern University, Joshue Segumpan, Rey Suerte and Bassieru Sackor of the University of the Visayas. Suerte is the regular season and finals MVP of the just-concluded Cesafi season.

The PBA teams that are coming over are NLEX, Meralco and either the Star Hotshots or Phoenix Fuel Masters.
