Champion Global faces Ceres in UFL

Newly crowned champions Global FC will battle Ceres La Salle FC in the double-header match date of the United Football League (UFL) at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium at 7:30 p.m. today.

Global accomplished a rare feat of clinching a season double after winning another title with a commanding 7-0 victory over Laos FC in their last game.

On the other hand, Ceres La Salle is still on the run to secure the final second place at the end of the season with a record of 12 victories, two draws and three defeats for a total of 38 points.

Global and Ceres La Salle’s last match in the first round of the tournament ended in a 3-3 draw.

Global is expected to rely on the skills of Hikaru Minegeshi and Arthur Kouassi on offense in the absence of star Misagh Bahadonran, who suffered a minor injury during his stint with the Azkals.

Consequently, Bacolod City powerhouse squad Ceres will be banking on the prowess of Spanish forward Adrian Gallardo Valdez and Fil-German midfielder Stephan Schrock.

Green Archers United FC and Stallion FC will meet in the first game at 5 p.m. in the unified division of the UFL.
