Charice on Monteith’s death: Life’s too short

Former Glee star and international singer Charice expressed disbelief over the death of Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the hit TV musical show.

In an interview with TV Patrol on Sunday, just hours after Monteith’s death, Charice said, “It was unexpected. Life is too short so don’t waste it.”

Charice, who worked with Monteith in Glee’s second season, asked Filipino fans of the series to pray for Monteith’s family and friends—especially his girlfriend Lea Michele, who plays Glee’s female lead Rachel Berry.

“For Lea Michele, I just want to say sorry. I know she’s a very nice person and I know it’s very, very hard for her right now. The only thing that I can do for her and his family is to pray,” Charice said.

Michele, through a representative, finally released a statement on death of Monteith on Monday afternoon, Manila time.

In a report by People magazine, the unidentified spokesman said, “We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.”

Meanwhile,, quoting a source, Michele “is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable. She is devastated beyond belief.”

Monteith was found dead on Sunday afternoon (Manila time) in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada. Monteith was in the city to visit his mother. No cause of death has been confirmed but foul play was not apparent.

Early this year, Monteith entered rehabilitation for drug abuse receiving full support from Michelle.
