Charlotte to host 2017 All-Star Game


NEW YORK: The 2017 NBA All-Star game will be played in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the second time, it was revealed on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila). The decade-old, $260 million (232 million euros) home arena for the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets will seat 20,000 for the 66th showdown of elite NBA stars on February 19, 2017. Charlotte previously hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 1991, when the Eastern Conference edged the Western Conference 116-114 behind 26 points from Michael Jordan, now the owner of the Hornets, and 17 points and 22 rebounds from game Most Valuable Player Charles Barkley at the Charlotte Coliseum.
