ILAGAN CITY, Isabela: Tropical storm Chedeng brought no damages but blessings to the province after it crossed Isabela on Sunday.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said there were no recorded damages brought by Chedeng as it had only delivered light to moderate rainfall and no strong winds when it struck Isabela.
Edmond Guzman, PDDRM officer, said the typhoon brought only rains that watered wilting crops of farmers.
Mongo farmers in the town of San Mateo were elated over the rains brought by Chedeng, saying they were a blessing to their plants.
Guzman said the provincial government had made preparations three days before Chedeng reached Isabela when the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecast that it will make landfall in the Aurora-Isabela area.
