Arellano University and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta are both aiming to record their third-straight victories when they face separate foes today in the FilOil Flying V Pre-season Premier Cup 2016 at the San Juan Arena.

Arellano and Perpetual are sharing the lead with two wins each.

It will be a battle between National Collegiate Athletic Association teams as the Altas clash with Emilio Aguinaldo College at 9:30 a.m. while the Chiefs will be battling College of Saint Benilde at 11:15 a.m.

The Altas posted a blowout win over the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons before defeating the National University (NU) Bulldogs, 78-66, in their previous outing on May 7.

Perpetual will be banking on Gab Daganon, who has an average of 19 points per game, together with high-scoring foreign student-athlete Bright Akhuetie.

African reinforcement Prince Eze will fortify the frontline of the Altas.

On the other hand, the Generals will be led by the duo of Sydney Onwubere and Hamadou Laminuo as they try and taint the pristine record of the Altas.

Veteran Jiovanni Jalalon will be spearheading the charge of Arellano against Benilde.

With an average of 20 points per game, Jalalon has been the key player in Arellano’s offense in their last two games. Jalalon had a 22-point, five-rebound and three-assist performance against Far Eastern University (FEU).

Michael Canete and Michael Salado together with Lervin Flores are expected to provide the boost for the Chiefs’ offense.

The Blazers are keen to arrest a two-game losing skid.

In the other three games today, the San Sebastian College Recoletos Golden Stags meets the NU Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. while University of the East will take on Lyceum of the Philippines University at 3:15 p.m. The third match is between the UP Fighting Maroons and the FEU Tamaraws at 5 p.m.
