• Child rape raps vs convict

Criminal charges will be filed by the Bureau of Corrections against New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) inmate Norvin Domingo for the foiled rape of an 8-year old girl.

According to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, the criminal raps will be filed before the Muntinlupa City (Metro Manila) Prosecutor’s Office.

Domingo, who is serving jail time for robbery with intimidation, will face charges for frustrated homicide, attempted rape and child abuse for the attempted rape of the young girl inside a toilet at NBP’s maximum security compound.

De Lima pointed out that there was a medico-legal examination conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation on the victim that showed the girl had not been sexually abused.

The victim is the daughter of Domingo’s gangmate in the Bahala Na Gang.

If convicted over the new charges, Domingo’s jail term will be eight years, from the 4 years and 2 months for robbery with intimidation.

A source of The Manila Times earlier said the eight-year-old girl had been raped by her own father inside the NBP, the national penitentiary.
