Children’s plays for adults

In the middle of festivities and cheerful spirits, Bit by Bit Company presents a twin-bill production Children’s Plays for Adults (CPFA), which promises to provoke the much-needed year-end reflection.

Original plays Si Maria Isabella at ang Guryon ng mga Tala—a Virgin Labfest 2015 favorite—by Eljay Castro Deldoc, and Games People Play by Palanca awardee Glenn Sevilla Mas will “serve” reality today and tomorrow, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., at Power Mac Center Spotlight, Circuit Makati.

Si Maria Isabella at ang Guryon ng mga Tala tells the story of a young girl who, wanting to become a star in the sky for the boy he loves, embarks on a 60-year quest to build a large kite to help fulfill her goal. Based on the book A Kite of the Stars by Dean Francis Alfar, the cast that includes Krysttle Valentino, Rafael Tibayan, Ian Santos and Jay-R Sanchez will try to answer the question, “Is life spent on love ever wasted?”

Games People Play, on the other hand, presents three people who try to understand themselves by revisiting the childhood games they played. It’s a dark tale of Luna, the naive girl turned nun who secretly breeds lust; Diego, the young man who’s looking for a paternal figure and maternal love; and Julio, an effeminate boy who’s afraid to come out of the closet.

Both plays are directed by Ed Lacson Jr.
