Gilas veterans Gabe Norwood, Jayson Castro, Japeth Aguilar and naturalized player Andray Blatche top the members of the pool for the 16-nation tournament.
The other members are Gilas regulars Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Troy Rosario, Raymond Almazan, Jio Jalalon, Allein Maliksi and Filipino-Canadian Matthew Wright.
Also included by Reyes are young standouts Carl Bryan Cruz, Kevin Alas, Kevin Ferrer, Baser Amer, Mac Belo, Kobe Paras, Bobby Ray Parks, Kiefer Ravena, Roger Pogoy, Mike Tolomia, Norbert Torres and Filipino-German Christian Standhardinger.
Reyes is expected to name the final 12 on or before July 25.
The Philippines is bracketed in Group B along with powerhouse China, Iraq and Qatar in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup. The country made it to the FIBA Asia Cup proper after winning the Southeast Asia Basketball Championship title last May at the Araneta Coliseum.
In 2015, the Philippines under Tab Baldwin lost to host China for the gold medal and the lone spot for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Some of the players in the pool are also in the squad of the Gilas Pilipinas that will be seeing action in the annual William R. Jones Cup in Taiwan on July 15 to 23 and the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia next month.
