Christmas is a time of year when we can hope for a real messiah, a moral leader to rise up and inspire us to live good, moral lives of integrity, and to mutually help one another and the poor. These are the great values brought into this world by the birth of Jesus of Nazareth – aligned with the great commandment that we love one another as we love ourselves. Some people think self-love is selfish love yet it is, in fact, a positive force.
