BAGUIO CITY: Around 1,500 balik-mangagawa and their families from various Overseas Family Circles (OFCs) in Baguio and Benguet were treated to a fun-filled Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Christmas treat in Barangay Padre Burgos here. Well known Baguio Tenor Glenn Gaerlan and the Baguio City National High School Theater Arts group provided entertainment, while OWWA partners—Philhealth, Pagibig Fund, Banco De Oro, Smart Telecoms and other private donors—also shared food and raffle prizes. Starter kits for Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay Program—livelihood assistance to OFW returnees who opt to start or expand a business —as well as notices of award for the various scholarship programs of OWWA such as the Congressional Migrant Workers, the Education for Development, Skills for Employment and OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (CMWSP, EDSP, SESP and ODSP) were also distributed. Each family participant went home with pack of groceries as Christmas gift.
