Church loses P150K to thief


A thief allegedly robbed the Saint Peter Parish Church in Cavite City of P150,000 consisting of a chalice and gadgets on Saturday evening.

Dominador Medina, the parish priest of the church located in Barangay 32, Caridad, Cavite City, told police investigators that the suspect, who was identified as Bryan Flores, allegedly entered the church at about 11:37 in the evening on Saturday by destroying a window and jalousies to eventually enter the Sacristy room.

The suspect, who is also from Cavite City, allegedly took a chalice worth about P40,000 and nine computer monitors worth P95,000, and other gadgets. The total amount of stolen goods was placed at P150,000.

The allegedly robbery was discovered at about 7:00 am on Sunday by the caretaker of church who immediately reported it to the parish priest and police.

During a follow-up operation, the suspect was arrested which resulted in the recovery of the five computer monitors. The recovery of the other items is still ongoing.

Police investigators believe the suspect allegedly had accomplices in carrying out the robbery inside the church.
