THE Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Saturday announced that members of an illegal drug syndicate based in Central Luzon were arrested on Thursday. CIDG Director, Chief Supt. Victor Deona, quoting a report sent by CIDG Central Luzon head Senior Supt. Ismael Fernandez identified the arrested syndicate leader as Espheranza Tanglao alias ‘Mudra’ who was arrested with nine other men in their hideout in Mabalacat, Pampanga. The operation was conducted by virtue of search warrant issued by Judge Omar Viola of Regional Trial Court Branch 57 of Angeles City. Deona said a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002 is being prepared for inquest proceeding.
