CIDG NABS 22 CRIMINALS IN THREE-DAY MANHUNT OPERATION

THE Philippine National Police- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested 22 criminals and killed one during an intensified manhunt operations last week all over the country, reports said on Monday. CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong said most of the arrested were wanted by authorities for various criminal offenses such as murder, rape and robbery and illegal possession of firearms. Magalong identified the fatality as Junie Lawas, who escaped from the Cagayan de Oro provincial jail on September 2011. Lawas was killed on June 15 in Hillside, Barangay Lapasan during a shootout with CIDG operatives sent to arrest him based on a warrant issued by Judge Florencia Sealana of RTC Branch 17 in Cagayan de Oro City.
