THE Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is investigating the 1,600 sacks of rice missing from the warehouse of the National Food Authority in Agusan del Sur. CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong on Tuesday said he has directed the 13th Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), under Supt. Randy Glen Silvio, to investigate the missing sacks of rice at the warehouse in Barangay Poblacion, Bayugan City. Magalong said that on July 18, CIDG operatives and NFA officials inspected the warehouse and discovered 133 pieces of wooden pallets covered with empty sacks. The warehouse supervisor identified as Melvin Pacana said he released 1, 600 sacks rice worth at least P2.4 million to unknown traders or individuals without permission.
