City council imposes strict attendance

SAN PABLO CITY: The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has imposed strict attendance of city councilors beginning its regular session on Monday after amendments were introduced on the Internal Rules this week. As amended, the regular session starts every Monday at 9 a.m., and a quorum is declared if the councilors arrive on time with 30 minutes grace period for latecomers. However, a councilor who would arrive 31 minutes late past the opening schedule is declared absent. Vice Mayor and SP presiding officer Angie Yang, meanwhile, is chairperson of the Committees on Rules and Privileges, Ethics and Discipline and the Blue Ribbon.
